UPDATE 1: The interior, underside, door jams and dash has the finish paint, the exterior of the cab has all body work done and is primed.
UPDATE 2: The front fenders and hood are now in the shop for bodywork and paint. The bed and rear fenders are completely painted. The oak bed flooring is being refinished. New door glass and power windows kit from C & L's are installed. I'm getting most of my F-100 parts from John's F-Fun Hundreds.
UPDATE 3: C & L's has relocated to beautiful St. George in Southwest Utah, about 2 hours east of Las Vegas, thus delaying our project once again. The good news is that the truck is all painted and ghost flames have been buried deep into the front end. We'll be picking it up from San Diego soon and bringing it to it's new home.
UPDATE 4: Well the "Hanger Queen" (Naval Air term) is finally in it's new home. Door rubber is in, cab remounted and tilt front end is being mounted.
UPDATE 5: The wiring is being installed, we are using a 21 circuit EZ Wiring Harness from C & L's. Taillights, headlights, wipers and other components are being rebuilt and installed. It's coming together nicely! We joined the local car club, Kruzin Knights and been attending a few outings and shows.
UPDATE 6: Master cylinder and 9" booster, bought from SSBC, have been mounted to the firewall and mated to the hanging brake petal. MSD ignition was also mounted to the firewall. The transmission cooler was mounted to the frame. Both these items as well as the billet distributor and Holley fuel pump were purchased from Summit Racing.
UPDATE 7: Thanks to long time friend Tom King and his wife Kathie who visited for a week and got me off my butt and off work (don't tell C & L's) to get some things done on the F100. He helped me with brake lines to the rear and fuel line and vent, mounting of the master cylinder and booster. We also corrected my mistake of not putting the oil pump drive shaft in during motor assembly.
UPDATE 8: Front grill, head and parking lights and bumper all have been installed. Final assembly of the Jag, greasing, adding fluid and installing a diff vent . (modified Rodstuff Ford Rear End Vent)
UPDATE 9: The bed is complete, tailgate mounted and held closed by hidden latches. The bed wood was refinished by Laurie.
UPDATE 10: Another relocation for C & L's. We had a chance to buy property in the Northwest and we did. A new garage is being built and in the meantime the F-100 is being stored at my brothers place. We now live in Seabeck WA.
UPDATE 11: Finally got the F-100 moved to it's new home. Our sister-in-law, Nancy, was glad to get her garage back!
UPDATE 12: Been working on installing the seats from a 2002 Buick LaSabre. I chose this particular seat for three main reasons, One, the size was right for the '56 cab. Two, it's a split bench seat and three the shoulder seat belt is built into the seat. The only challenge so far has been the drivers side seat memory module. I had the rewire it so it worked manually and without the seat position memory controls.
UPDATE 13: Another move... Converted our rental cottage to a workshop/garage and moved our F100 to it new home.
UPDATE 14: The motor started once I got the firing order correct. Boy, it sure sounds sweet. All the parts for rebuilding the front suspension came in from CCP ( Classic Performance Products).
UPDATE 15: New front springs are in, dropped spindles, discs and calipers are next..
UPDATE 16: Front suspension is done, brakes have been bled, Power steering pump has been installed. Working on all the little things, Speedo cable, E-brake, fixing header leak, tuning carb and the list goes on...

My answer to the question "Why is this taking so long?"
is
"When I have the time, I don't have the money and when I have the money I don't have the time."
